The installer is designed for a fresh install, not upgrade. If the system is loaded DSDT (eg HDD), the installer does not generate a new one. Remove /Extra HDD and try again, you'll see the difference.
FireWire is working correctly, despite the presence of this message. Connect the HDD or DV camcorder, and check.
The sound under OS X is different than under Windows for example. Mac does not have 5.1 analog outputs, and as such does not support analog audio 5.1. You can join the 3 outputs 2.0 in a 5.1, using the Audio MIDI setup, but handle them correctly only a few applications, including one of the few is VLC. Digital output is a classical type of PCM 2.0, supports up to 96kHz/24bit. The digital output fully supports AC3, DTS, but only if the source material is in this format, for example, from the movies.
Obtaining audio HDMI GT220, has nothing to do with the P5W.
I've never used WiFi. Look at the Realtek website drivers.
Thanks for the reply - and all of your work !
I tried my FW ipod and FW HD. They are not woking.
Sound - I'll try something with 5.1 digital and see how it works.
HDMI audio from video cards with audio chip can (on Gigabyte MB's at least) be added via dsdt. I havn't been able to find out how to do it on the P5W. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index. ... &p=1448833
Any insight on this would be appreciated. I know very little in this area.
Realtek has drivers for i386 not x64. I don't really expect this to be solved.
Thanks again !
