Zakupiłem Sapphire Radeon R9 280X. Poszła OOB, przynajmniej przy konfiguracji 1xHDMI - nie testowałem opcji wielu monitorów.
Porównując do wcześniejszej GTX 760 to różnica kolosalna:
* BruceX na fcpx El Capitan - teraz 15s - wcześniej 30s
* BruceX na Yosemite - teraz 26s - wcześniej 43s
* Luxmark 2.1 Sala - teraz 2635 pkt - wcześniej 750 pkt
* Lightroom >6.1 - teraz poprawnie działa akceleracja GPU - wcześniej brak
Przy NeatVideo benchmarki praktycznie bez zmian dla samego GPU- efekt wspierania przez ten plugin i OpenCL i CUDA. Za to różnica jest taka, że przy GTX pojawiały się artefakty i zwisy aplikacji / systemu, dlatego poza benchmarkami plugin pracował tylko na CPU. Na Radeonie nie zauważyłem takich problemów. Dodatkowo wygląda na to, że dla Radeona dodanie CPU do GPU absolutnie nie poprawia wyników NeatVideo. W przypadku GTX 760 dawało radę urwać jeszcze klatkę czy dwie w takiej konfiguracji.
Podsumowując, bo bardzo krótkich, wstępnych testach jestem zadowolony. Widać ogromną różnicę w typowej pracy z materiałem video - dodanie stabilizacji, rendering po korekcie kolorów, etc., to teraz moment.
Zadziwia mnie różnica w testach BruceX pomiędzy El Capitan a Yosemite. Nie wydaje mi się, żeby tak znaczący wpływ miał fakt, że El Capitan jest na SSD, a Yosemite na HDD. Źródła, cache i eksport w obu przypadkach jest na SSD, więc sam wpływ potrzeb systemu/fcpx powinien być pomijalny. Problemy z usypianiem nie interesują mnie - więc nie testowałem.
